Overview
Cadillac's EV lineup was launching in the Middle East for the first time. While the brand had existing digital presence in other regions, none of it translated directly into this market. I led the visual and interaction direction across the model pages and vehicle configurator, establishing a consistent foundation for the regional launch from scratch.

Brand Meets Product

Premium brand expression and functional product structure aligned so the platform felt as considered as the vehicles it represented.

Built to Last
Built to Last
Both the original proposal and the final client direction maintained the same visual quality standard. The interactive carousel was strong enough that the client kept it unchanged.

Challenge
Building for a market with no existing regional foundation meant every visual pattern, interaction principle, and page structure had to be defined from scratch. Global references from other Cadillac markets existed but couldn't be directly applied to the Middle East context.
The platform also spanned two separate surfaces, a model microsite and a vehicle configurator, that needed to feel like one coherent experience. In a premium automotive context, inconsistency reads as low quality immediately.

Approach
The initial direction called for a premium brand experience rather than a conversion focused product page. I designed a storytelling structure that communicated who Cadillac is and what their EV lineup represents before asking users to configure or register interest.
This meant leading with cinematic visuals and brand narrative, giving each model room to breathe before surfacing product details, and ensuring the visual treatment felt as premium as the vehicles themselves.
Every decision was made to answer one question first:
Does this feel like a brand worth trusting before asking the user to make a decision?

Proposed Design

The original proposal followed the initial dreiction closely, prioritising brand essence and premium positioning over immediate conversion.

Product Page
The product page was structured to educate users about the vehicle before presenting configuration options.

How It Evolved
The initial direction focused on brand storytelling and premium positioning. When the work was presented the Cadillac team wanted to move toward a more conversion focused structure, getting users to the product pages faster rather than guiding them through a brand narrative first.
I raised the original direction as context, the Cadillac team made their call, and I executed the revised version without friction. The job was to deliver excellently against the direction given, communicate clearly when something shifted, and adapt quickly when priorities changed.

Final Direction

The final homepage prioritised the lineup and moved users toward product pages faster, reflecting Cadillac's conversion priorities.

The product page was restructured to lead with the configurator, removing the storytelling layer in favour of immediate product engagement.

What Stayed
Despite the shift toward a simpler and more conversion focused structure, the interactive car carousel from the original proposal was kept in the final version. It was the one element the Cadillac team didn't want to lose.

Outcomes
A consistent visual and interaction foundation established across both the microsite and configurator from the very first release. The platform felt coherent and premium across both surfaces despite being built as two separate products. Both the original proposal and the final direction maintained the same visual quality standard throughout.

Learnings
Building a premium platform from scratch taught me that getting the visual foundation right at launch is significantly easier than fixing inconsistency after multiple teams have built on top of it.
Working within strict brand constraints also taught me that limitation can be a creative tool. The tighter the brand governance the more deliberate every decision has to be, which often produces more considered work than open briefs do.
The Cadillac project also taught me that an initial direction is a starting point not a contract. The job is to deliver your best thinking against what you were given, communicate clearly when something shifts, and adapt quickly when priorities change.
